A leading premium entertainment company is seeking a Vice President, Physical Production (Scripted & Unscripted) to oversee the execution of original television productions based in Mexico.

This senior leadership role is responsible for managing all physical production activities across scripted and unscripted programming, serving as the critical link between development and production. The role partners closely with creative, production finance, post‑production, legal, business affairs, marketing, and external production partners to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and at the highest creative and technical standards.

The Role

Reporting to senior programming and production leadership, the VP, Physical Production will provide hands‑on oversight of multiple productions, ensuring alignment with creative vision, financial controls, and delivery requirements. This executive will proactively identify and resolve production challenges while maintaining strong relationships with showrunners, producers, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee physical production for assigned scripted and unscripted series in Mexico
  • Review, approve, and monitor production budgets, schedules, and cost reports
  • Partner closely with Production Finance, Legal, Business Affairs, Post, Creative, and Clearance teams
  • Review and implement production plans and workflows
  • Coordinate with post‑production to ensure timely delivery and resolve issues
  • Monitor marketing and publicity needs as they impact production and post
  • Identify and manage risks related to insurance, E&O, unions/guilds, and clearances
  • Collaborate with executive producers to ensure creative and network objectives are met
  • Evaluate production partners, staffing plans, equipment, and facilities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships within the Mexican and international production community
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in studio, network, or premium content production
  • Extensive experience overseeing physical production for scripted and unscripted television
  • Prior experience as a Line Producer or Unit Production Manager (UPM) required
  • Strong background in production budgeting, cost reporting, and accounting
  • Deep understanding of post‑production workflows and delivery requirements
  • Knowledge of union/guild agreements and production practices in Mexico
  • Familiarity with production insurance and risk management
  • Proficiency with Movie Magic Budgeting & Scheduling and Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple productions simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong communication skills with talent, showrunners, producers, and executives
  • Willingness to travel and work across time zones
