We are looking for a talented Software Engineer I to join our team specializing in IT for our CUMMINS in Guadalajara, Jalisco. Hybrid role: 3 days on site, 2 days home office.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Collaborating with a variety of people in multiple Engineering teams across Cummins, management and information technology (IT) staff during the creation, implementation and maintenance of a system.
  • Define application interfaces, integrations , and Nonfunctional Requirements (NFRs).
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver business value and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Ability to work and learn with multiple technologies and platforms.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to design, develop, and implement software solutions aligned with business needs.
  • Translate business requirements into system specifications, architecture, and applications.
  • Analyze system requirements, data flows, and processes to define effective technical solutions.
  • Follow software development lifecycle best practices, ensuring quality, documentation, and timely delivery.
  • Continuously improve applications and solutions through analysis and modernization.

    Education, Licenses, Certifications

    College, university, or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related subject, or relevant equivalent experience required.

    Experience

    +5 years’ experience working as a software engineer with the following knowledge and experiences are preferred:

    • Fundamental IT technical skill sets;
    • Experience in trouble solutions and problem resolution
    • Taking a system from coping requirements through actual launch of the system;
    • Communicating with users, other technical teams and management to collect requirements, identify tasks, provide estimates and meet production deadlines.
    • Desirable experience of working in Agile environments;
    • Professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, source control management, build processes, testing and operations
