ABOUT THE ROLE

Join a forward-thinking engineering team building high-performance web solutions at the intersection of PHP, WordPress, and emerging AI technologies. As a Middle Software Engineer, you’ll drive the development of scalable WordPress applications while gradually expanding into Python-based and AI-focused projects. This role is perfect for a versatile developer eager to innovate, grow across the full stack, and shape the evolution of modern, data-driven platforms in a collaborative and learning-oriented environment.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Design, develop, and maintain WordPress-based applications and plugins, ensuring scalability and high performance;
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement backend and frontend solutions, integrating with GraphQL APIs and other services;
• Contribute to Python-based tools and automation, with the goal of expanding technical expertise in this area;
• Support and occasionally modify existing Java features when needed;
• Implement unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability;
• Use Datadog and other observability tools to monitor performance and troubleshoot production issues;
• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and continuous improvement initiatives;
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies, with a focus on AI-driven development and cloud infrastructure.

MUST HAVES

• PHP (80%) – At least 2 years of professional experience, with advanced skills in WordPress customization, plugin development, and CMS integration;
• Python – Mid/junior level, mainly for developing small tools and automation scripts, with the expectation to expand these responsibilities over time;
• GraphQL – Strong knowledge of API design, schema development, and performance optimization;
• Testing frameworks: experience with JUnit (for Java) and React Testing Library;
• Upper-Intermediate English level.

NICE TO HAVES

• Java – Basic understanding, sufficient to maintain or modify existing features occasionally;
• React – Basic understanding, plus willingness to learn and assist with frontend testing when required;
• Terraform – Experience with Infrastructure as Code for managing cloud resources;
• AWS (S3, CloudFront) – Familiarity with scalable, distributed cloud solutions;
• SEO principles – Understanding of web performance and optimization for visibility;
• Awareness of AI integration – Knowledge of how AI tools can enhance development workflows.
