FUNCTION : Legal & External Affairs

LOCATION : Mexico City

Role positioning and objectives

This role is part of the Legal And External Affairs department.

This role acts as the lead and the coordinator for all scientific engagement activities within the LANCAR cluster, to share important information of Tobacco-Harm-Reduction among Public-Health Influencers / Institutions and provide scientific support cross functional.

Reports to : Head of External Affairs LANCAR

Reporting Level : Managerial

Geographic Scope : Latin America and the Caribbean

What you will be accountable for
  • Providing expert input to assist the cluster to define and deliver the LANCAR scientific understanding and strategy.
  • Support engagement and understanding on tobacco harm reduction science-based regulation.
  • Assisting in the localization of scientific advocacy, taking into consideration markets sensibilities and cultural aspects.
  • Providing the required scientific counselling and inputs on science to support evidence-based regulation for all LANCAR markets.
  • Ensuring that adequate technical engagement assistance on product standards.
  • Supporting the THR amplification efforts coordinating and articulating PHIs networks and interpolating international research so that it is meaningful in a local context for end markets.
  • Disseminate BAT Science in the cluster and acting as a spokesperson, where appropriate.Upskilling end-markets on scientific literacy and identifying scientific and FORA opportunities to demonstrate Science and other research within end markets so that it can be coordinated accordant to business plans.

  • Are you an expert professional in the medical or biochemical area with strong communication skills?
Essential experience, skills and knowledge
  • Intercultural proficiencies from international experience or personal background.
  • Confirmed expertise engaging with external Key Opinion Leaders and Public Health Influencers.
  • Sound knowledge of tobacco / food or pharma ´ science complexities.
  • Knows World Health Organization ´s political environment and their public policy-making processes.
  • Experience of crafting and leading 3rd party networks.
  • Proven record to engage external and internal partners in an insightful manner.
  • Project management and excellent communications skills.
  • Studies : Degree Level, Physician, Biochemical Engineer
  • Proficient English : Written and speaking.
