A multinational energy and automation company is looking for a QE Senior Fabrication in Monterrey, Nuevo León. The role is pivotal in establishing quality procedures and processes for manufacturing operations, particularly in electrostatic painting and welding. Join our Quality Team in our Queretaro Plant.

Position Title: QE Senior Fabrication

Experience

5-10 years as Quality Engineer. At least 5 in fabrication process (electrostatic painting, sheet metal and copper.) fabrication, welding process or metal‑mechanic environment.

Key Responsibilities

The QE Senior Fabrication of the is accountable for establishing, deploying, and stabilizing product, process, and system quality during the launch of a new Schneider Electric manufacturing site with specific technical ownership of electrostatic painting, welding, sheet metal and copper (Cu) fabrication parts. This role leads the end‑to‑end quality setup, ensures readiness for the plant release according the Schneider Quality guidelines, while supporting early application of Quality Core Tools to ensure robust processes from launch, supports customer and corporate audits, and embeds Schneider Electric safety, quality and sustainability standards from day one. The position requires strong leadership, structured execution, and the ability to build systems and teams in parallel with production ramp‑up.

Qualifications
Specific Technical Skills and experience:
1) Electrostatic Painting Process Quality Ownership

Act as process quality owner for electrostatic painting operations (powder or liquid coating).

  • Ensure robust quality controls across all painting process stages: Surface preparation and pretreatment
  • Paint application parameters (voltage, gun settings, distance, flow rate)
  • Cure oven parameters (temperature, time, airflow)
  • Visual, adhesion, thickness, and corrosion‑resistance requirements
  • Define and validate process parameters, control plans, and inspection standards
  • Lead resolution of coating‑related defects (orange peel, poor adhesion, thickness variation, fish eyes, insufficient coverage)
2) Welding Processes Quality Ownership (Projection, TIG, MIG)

Act as quality system authority for welding processes, including:

  • Projection welding
  • MIG (GMAW)
  • TIG (GTAW)

Ensure welding processes are: Properly defined and documented, assessed through PFMEA and Control Plans, controlled and monitored for consistency and stability. Review and approve welding process parameters, control methods, and acceptance criteria. Experience in welders' qualification process.

Lead analysis and resolution of welding‑related non‑conformities. Drive continuous improvement of welding quality and reduction of defects and scrap.

Fabrication parts (Stamping, bending, machining, cutting of metal parts)
  • Sheet metal fabrication (cutting, stamping, bending and forming process)
  • Copper (Cu) fabrication parts (busbars, formed copper components, conductive assemblies)
  • Surface finish, coating, and plating requirements
  • Material Data sheet
Core Tools:

Assist in early deployment and use of Quality Core Tools during process design and launch:

  • FMEA (Process / Design) Participate in FMEA development, updates, and risk reduction actions
  • Control Plans – Support creation and maintenance of control plans during ramp‑up
  • MSA – Assist with measurement system analysis activities and documentation
  • SPC – Support basic implementation and monitoring of statistical process control
  • Assist in defining quality KPIs and monitoring process stability during ramp‑up

Who will you report to?

Report directly to the Quality Manager. This position will be working occasionally with corporate Quality positions as the Senior Managers and the ETO Quality Director. Additionally have strong collaboration with engineering, project managers and the operations teams.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Quality, or related discipline) Experience 5 years of experience in Quality, desirable experience in new plant, project, or ramp‑up environments (internship, co‑op, or project work). Microsoft Office (Excel required), Minitab, Office.

GD&T, ASTM applicable standards, UL

Certification as internal auditor in ISO 9001, 14001, 45000, Six sigma, Lean manufacturing, welding standards, NDT, is a plus.

Languages: English advanced level (required for corporate, customer communication and audits)
