The Production Supervisor will lead and manage specified production department(s) to deliver high quality products meeting customer requirements. Goals are achieved by working with subordinate direct labor to increase competency, capacity, and quality. The supervisor is responsible for the overall performance of the department and is therefore expected to address internal and external obstructions threatening objectives

Responsibilities

• Manage associate time off and leaves within company guidelines to ensure a productive workforce and resources.
• In conjunction with leads and off-shift supervisors, conduct performance and pay rate evaluations of subordinates.
• Develop work crew by coordinating training and other career development opportunities.
• Analyze subordinate attendance, output, and quality measures on a weekly basis.
• Plan, research, and justify changes to staff size by recommending transfers and new hires.
• Coordinate training of new associates.
• Enforce company policies concerning safety, quality, attendance, etc.
• Resolve personnel issues.
• Review, resolve issues, and approve weekly associate payroll.
• Analyze workload and schedule, adjust resources as necessary to meet production schedule.
• Advise operations management of issues meeting production schedule.
• In conjunction with QA personnel, resolve production non-conformances and perform root cause analysis.
• In conjunction with Engineering resources, procure materials, fixtures, and tools for efficient operation of department.
• Research and justify process improvements, alone or as part of a team, within department.
• In conjunction with Engineering resources, research and financially justify equipment purchases and repairs.
• Communicate department status, progress, and general information with other members of the management team.
• Convey pertinent corporate information to subordinates.
• Work in cross functional teams to solve issues beyond the department.
• Drive company objectives, initiates, and metrics.
• Share management responsibilities with other supervisors during off-shift periods.
• Operate security system when necessary.
• Participate in training and perform prescribed management duties involving emergency response, first aid, and others as needed.
• Track and report on key performance metrics of department.
• Other duties as assigned, based on business conditions

Requirements

• 2 year or 4 year post high school degree or equivalent management experience.
• Ability to communicate with other members in the organization through verbal and written methods.
• Competent use of Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• 5 or more years of production experience.
• 3 or more years of management experience.
• Thorough technical knowledge of the processes within respective production area(s).
