A leading pharmaceutical company is seeking a procurement professional based in Mexico City to translate global strategies into local execution. The ideal candidate will possess over 8 years of experience in indirect procurement and strategic sourcing, along with strong communication skills in English. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to manage key supplier relationships and contribute to savings targets, ensuring procurement aligns with business objectives.

Formación

• 8-10+ years of relevant procurement experience, especially in indirect procurement.
• Experience in R&D procurement preferred.
• Operations and project management experience required.

• Translate global strategies into local implementations.

• Control budgets and oversee performance of reports.

Location: Mexico City #Hybrid

About the Role

Major accountabilities:

1. Translate global divisional category strategy into regional or country strategies, including local implementation.
2. Lead the implementation of sourcing plans for the sub-category and achieve savings targets.
3. Contribute to the development of category strategies by identifying key supplier relationships and leading business planning activities.
4. Manage strategic supplier relationships within the sub-category, ensuring supplier performance aligns with KPIs and issues are resolved promptly.
5. Control procurement activities at the country level regarding supplier selection, timing, and commercial conditions, depending on division policies.
6. Gather supplier information and feedback from various stakeholders and deliver procurement metrics.
7. Create and review major contracts for the sub-category, ensuring clear communication and consistent application.
8. Manage the budget and resources for the area; oversee performance and talent development of direct and indirect reports.
9. Require a university/advanced degree; a Master’s or higher degree is preferred.
10. Preferably 8-10+ years of relevant procurement experience, especially in indirect procurement.
11. Cross-cultural experience is desirable.
12. Experience in strategic sourcing and stakeholder management.
13. Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
14. Experience in R&D procurement is preferred.
15. Operations management and project management experience.
