What will you do?

You will teach courses in English, helping graduates become bilingual professionals equipped to face global challenges in civil engineering.

You will join a department that has become a national benchmark, graduating cohorts recognized with the highest distinction (Nivel 1 Plus) in the EGEL exam by CENEVAL. Your role will be key in driving continuous improvement and further elevating the academic quality of the program.

We are seeking a professor who will make a meaningful impact in one or more of the following strategic areas of Tec Civil Engineering:

• Transportation Infrastructure and Sustainable Mobility
• Structural Design for Construction using Advanced Materials

Your academic leadership will help shape the future of civil engineering in Mexico and beyond.

Your main challenges

• Conducting research in Digital Modeling of transportation systems or BIM for Construction, Structures, or Geotechnics in Civil Engineering (for a faculty-researcher profile), or in Education (for a teaching-consultant profile).
• Teaching courses under the Tec21 model in the 2019 and 2026 curricula.
• Participating in extension and consulting projects defined by the department.
• Developing instructional materials and publishing results in formats such as books and academic articles.
• Driving educational innovation through high-impact teaching practices.
• Strengthening international collaboration between the Civil Engineering department in the Central-West region of the School of Engineering and Sciences (EIC) and prestigious institutions abroad.

What are we looking for?

• PhD from a foreign university ranked in the top 100 for Civil or Structural Engineering (QS), with research experience. A postdoctoral stay or equivalent is highly desirable.
• Publications in the areas of Transportation Infrastructure, Sustainable Mobility, or BIM with advanced materials.
• Alternatively, proven experience in consulting projects in Geotechnics or Roadways may substitute for disciplinary research requirements.
• Master’s degree in Engineering or Science, preferably in Civil Engineering.
• Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering.
• Bilingual proficiency in English, with a TOEFL-equivalent score above 600.
• International experience.
• Teaching experience at the undergraduate level in Mexican or foreign universities.
• Prior experience at Tec is highly desirable.
• Experience leading research projects and securing external funding.
• Experience supervising undergraduate and/or graduate theses.
