A leading automotive supplier is seeking a Quality Engineer based in Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila, to manage client quality interactions and oversee the APQP processes. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical, with at least 3 years of experience in automotive quality, proficiency in English, and knowledge of ISO and IATF standards. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with both internal and external teams to ensure high-quality outcomes and successful project management.

Formación

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality management within automotive.
  • Proven comprehensive knowledge of the APQP process.
  • Understanding of mechanical measurement techniques.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • To be the main contact with the client in the quality part as well he / she is the main quality contact in the program.

To be the VOC (Vice of the customer) focused on the APQP / program management process, D / PFMEA, control plan and PPAP process.

Also is the program quality person to the customer.

  • Ensure that BorgWarner processes, standards and program specific requirements are implemented and followed.
  • Maintain effective communication with the client (internal and external) to ensure that what is communicated is not an impediment to achieving results / objectives for both parties.
  • Cascade customer specific requirements for the program to the Cross functional team and convert it into deliverables for the plant.
  • 100% oversight of APQP local 8D's.
  • Monitor Program KPI with the CFT and start if needed.
  • Act as leader on the local program audits (WeAR, VDA 6.3 and others.
  • Highlight program quality risk and its escalation.
  • Ensure the program team has available the program information for APQP and NDPD on time.
  • Have the quality program information available for regular updates for program manager, quality manager and others.
  • Development of the control plan in different phases of the launch and its correlation with all the related documents.
  • Approval of the pertinent steps to the function to the changes of engineering in SAP (CR's), with the tasks that are assigned, looking for punctuality in the same ones together with evidence where it is necessary (#SREA, PSW signed by client, etc.).
  • Participate on the engineering processes for assemblies, components and others applicable by make a proper risk analysis where appropriate.
  • Elaboration of rejections towards suppliers through the project buyer during launch and where the SDE team is not involved.
  • Provide feedback to designer when a drawing review meeting takes place having into consideration lessons learned from other programs and potential risk.
  • Designate, using the BW and customer tools, the product special characteristics that need to be declared in our specification documents.
  • Ensure BorgWarner has the scope and means to measure the dimensions declared in our drawings.
JOB PROFILE & EXPERIENCE
PROFILE
  • Industrial Engineering, Mechanical, or Similar
  • Fluent level of English
  • 3 years of experience as minimum.
(Tier 1 supplier desired)
  • Proven comprehensive knowledge of the APQP process with an Automotive OEM.
  • Understanding and practical knowledge of multiple mechanical measurement technics (CMM, round scan, contour graph, surface roughness m / c, plug / thread gauges).
  • Experience of Six Sigma and Lean Green or Black Belt training.
EXPERIENCE
  • Core Tools practitioner
  • Familiar with definition of special characteristics and its management
  • Demonstrate skills on quality and APQP
  • Manage Problem Solution tools (8 D ´s, Ishikawa)
  • Knowledge of customer specific requirements
  • Knowledge of Quality Systems (ISO, IATF, VDA)
  • Knowledge medium level GD&T at minimum
  • Desired knowledge of SAP (QM module)
  • IMDS System Knowledge (Submission process).
  • Customer portals (Covisint FORD, GM Supplypower VW Konzern, FCA esupplierconnect)
  • Excellent communication skills with foreign customers.

(Desirable OEM) for discussion on engineering changes, customer complaints response and so on.

Have Have excellent communication and negotiation skills with that ability to build consensus and sell ideas at all levels of the organization.
