A technology consulting firm in Italy is seeking a skilled freelance AI/ML Engineer to design and deploy AI-driven solutions. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, at least 3 years of experience in AI/ML systems, and strong skills in Python, PyTorch, and TensorFlow. We're looking for a skilled freelance AI/ML Engineer to support us in designing and deploying AI-driven solutions that tackle complex real-world challenges.
- Design and deploy AI models for complex business problems
- Fine-tune LLMs (e.g., LLaMA, Mistral, Falcon) for domain-specific tasks
- Build and manage data pipelines for model training and inference
- Develop scalable model deployment strategies in production environments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build AI-powered applications
- Monitor model performance and optimize for accuracy and efficiency
- Stay up to date with the latest in AI, LLMs, and model optimization
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience building and deploying AI/ML systems
- Strong Python skills with PyTorch and/or TensorFlow
- Experience with transformers and LLMs
- Familiarity with model optimization (quantization, pruning, distillation)
- Solid grasp of MLOps and deployment workflows
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
- Master’s degree in AI, ML, or related area
- Experience with Vision‑Language Models (VLMs) and multimodal AI
- Knowledge of embeddings, vector DBs, and semantic search
- Familiarity with LangChain, LlamaIndex, and RAG techniques
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud ML platforms (AWS, Azure)
- Industrial domain experience is a plus
