Thales Alenia Space, a joint venture between Thales (67%) and Leonardo (33%), is a global space manufacturer with over 40 years of experience delivering high-tech solutions for telecommunications, navigation, Earth Observation, environmental management, exploration, science, and orbital infrastructures. Our diverse team serves customers such as governments, space agencies, and telecommunications operators, providing solutions to Space to Connect, Secure & Defend, Observe & Protect, Explore, Travel & Navigate.
The Electrical and Functional Assembly, Integration, and Test department is responsible for the integration and testing of spacecraft on Avionic Test Benches and Flight Models, especially for scientific spacecraft.
This role involves testing electrical interfaces between units and external environments (e.g., RF communication) to validate performance against requirements and standards, as well as conducting Functional Chain Validation including Mission Sequence Tests.
You will be responsible for validating the Functional Command and Control Chain on both ATB and Flight Models. Your duties include evaluating test requirements, working with customers and engineering teams to finalize them, defining, preparing, executing tests, and analyzing results. You will contribute to lifecycle reviews as per ESA standards, define technical requirements for test benches, and participate in system test definitions and executions, focusing on mission and system-level tests. You will validate the fulfillment of customer functional requirements at subsystem and system levels, ensuring protocols compliance (ECSS, PUS, spacecraft-specific) and demonstrating their adequacy in nominal and non-nominal scenarios. Troubleshooting and anomaly analysis support are also part of your responsibilities. The primary work location is Torino, with potential support during external test campaigns (up to two years). Work shifts (24/7) may be required based on the program schedule.
