Galileo is a fast‑growing renewable energy developer, investor and operator, currently in the very dynamic start‑up phase. Since our foundation in 2020, we have secured a pipeline of over 16 GW of solar PV, onshore wind, offshore wind and storage projects across 10 markets in Europe.

Technical Project Manager

Coordinate the engineering activities for the development of PV, wind, and BESS projects across various markets. This person will be based in our office in Milan (with the possibility of hybrid remote working), reporting to the Technical Director.

What you’ll do
  • Assist the Technical Director in the management and execution of PV, wind, and BESS projects from inception through completion, providing the engineering expertise needed to guide and support development, construction, operations, and financing/divestment of projects across various European countries (main focus will be on PV projects).
  • Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, preliminary layout design and optimisation, and risk analyses throughout the project lifecycle to support project development and execution. Monitor project progress, identifying potential issues and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, external advisors, and equipment suppliers to ensure that technology and technical aspects are incorporated into project development, and project milestones are met on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.
  • Use simulation tools/software to design layout, conduct performance analysis and other technical assessments.
  • Provide technical support to procurement, including inputs to tender documents, RFPs, bid evaluation, EPC and supplier contract negotiation, and equipment recommendations and selection.
  • Develop and maintain ties with external experts, consultants, associations and stakeholders of the renewable sector.
  • Maintain and extend your professional qualifications and skill set as needed to adapt to our expanding business focus and needs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering will be considered a plus).
  • At least 2‑3 years of experience as a Technical Designer, Project Engineer, or Junior Project Manager in renewable energy projects.
  • Fluency in English, with proficiency in additional European languages considered a plus.
  • Project management mindset, with an ability to dig into the detail through focused enquiries as well as step‑back and communicate the bigger picture pragmatically and succinctly.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment, across topics and markets in an organized, strategic and value‑adding way.
