A leading engineering company in Genova is seeking a Service & Spare Parts Specialist for their Downstream Team. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Engineering and a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role. Responsibilities include managing spare parts supply, supervising order execution, and maintaining client relations. The role requires excellent English communication skills and the willingness to travel worldwide. Ideal candidates will have strong interpersonal skills and a good understanding of logistics and commercial principles.

Competenze

  • Knowledge of strip processing equipment or cold rolling and machinery is a plus.

Service & Spare Parts Specialist

We are looking for a Service & Spare Parts Specialist to join our Downstream Team to ensure the correct management of after sales activities assisting the customer with spare parts supply and upgrades.

You will carry on the following activities:

  • Lay out the Spare part technical specification and approves it after verification on the part of the Technical Department.
  • Implement the operating budget for the order he is responsible for.
  • Supervise the preparation of the order execution programme, requests all the resources necessary to implementing the project according to the times and quantities necessary and prepares orders.
  • Define, together with the dedicated functions, the different modalities for resource procurement (in-house work / outsourcing; purchase, etc.).
  • Determine the objectives in agreement with contractual conditions (costs, timing and quality), the scope of work and the corporate policy for managing the order.
  • Cooperate with other functions for issue of Technical Specifications and solving technical aspects.
  • Elaborate the Procurement Plan, defines, with the support of other functions (e.g. Material Management), the level of criticality of components, co‑ordinates with the Procurement function for the solution of problems regarding the purchase of critical items.
  • Keep the material requisition list updated (or verifies updating by the Material Management function) and co‑ordinates expediting and logistics activities for the purposes of compliance with the Project Execution Plan.
  • Maintain official contact with the Client with reference to managerial and contractual aspects, manages and negotiates any possible variant and/or change.
  • Agree, with the Procurement function, the official Vendor List for the order.
  • Issue the Purchase Requests for Supply and Tenders.
  • If required participate in Procurement negotiations with the most significant suppliers for supplies/tenders.
  • Suggest new components to the client in order to enhance the plant/product made.

Required profile:

  • Degree in Engineering/technical background.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role; knowledge of strip processing equipment or cold rolling and machinery is a plus.
  • Understanding of commercial and logistic principle.
  • Willingness to worldwide travel.
  • Fluent in English, written and spoken is mandatory.
  • CRM and/or ERP software knowledge.
  • Good inter‑personal skills in combination with a strong self‑supporting/ independent character and a good understanding of dynamic and challenging environments.
  • Open mind attitude and desire to take on new challenges complete the ideal profile.
