About the Job

The Red Hat Engineering team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our global OpenShift Networking team. In this role, you will work as part of a global software development team to design, architect, and implement future networking solutions for Red Hat OpenShift. Your primary responsibilities will be related to Red Hat OpenShift and networking solutions. You will work as part of a distributed team both on your own and in close collaboration across Red Hat's platform engineering teams.

What You Will Do

• Design, develop and implement networking solutions for Red Hat's next-generation platforms, including Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift
• Ensure the quality of our offerings, participate in peer code reviews, CI/CD, and respond to security threats (CVEs)
• Participate in, lead, and create upstream networking project communities, contributing new development work and fixes
• Use your networking expertise to help customers solve complex business problems with creative solutions

What You Will Bring

• Strong networking knowledge, including expertise in switching and routing protocols
• Experience with cloud technologies, NFV, and SDN
• Proficiency in programming languages like Go, Python, or C/C++
• Understanding of open source communities
• Proactive attitude, willingness to tackle new problems, and ability to develop architectures
• Ability to work collaboratively in a distributed environment
• Good communication skills in English

• Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, and container networking

Salary range: $116,270 - $191,840. Actual offer depends on qualifications.
