The Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to work on our cloud operations platform, transforming open-source technologies into seamless cloud services. You will focus on developing the cloud Apache Kafka service and enhancing its scalability and reliability. The team also manages Apache Kafka Connect, Kafka MirrorMaker2, various Kafka connectors, and Karapace (Schema Registry and Kafka REST equivalent).

While we extensively use Python, it is not a strict requirement; we value senior engineers who are passionate about our mission and willing to learn Python.

What You'll Do

• Write high-quality, maintainable code and deliver new features
• Conduct peer reviews and participate in technical discussions
• Contribute to technical planning and backlog management
• Investigate and resolve customer issues
• Mentor and empower other engineers

What We're Looking For

Must-have

• Strong development skills, preferably in Python
• Experience writing automated tests
• Proficiency with Linux in development
• Good understanding of security aspects (software, networking)
• Fluency in English, both verbal and written

Nice-to-have

• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and Kafka MirrorMaker2
• Interest or experience in Infrastructure as Code
• Knowledge of distributed systems
• Experience in cloud DBaaS environments
