Overview
Lead the execution of medium-size to large projects or project portfolio and ensure that all related activities are performed in accordance with Hitachi Energy policy, contractual agreements, quality standards, health, safety & environment requirements, financial targets, as well as schedule commitments.
Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Leads the project team allocated to the project, defining main guidelines, allocating project tasks, and motivating and monitoring internal and external resources to accomplish all tasks and milestones. Provides performance feedback regarding allocated resources.
- Planning and Scheduling: Defines, jointly with the Project Controls department, all project plan documents, including scope and financial plans, schedule and risk management plans.
- Project execution and control: Ensures that the project follows execution best practices and Hitachi Energy policies. Monitors and controls project progress, resource utilization, financials, invoicing status, cost, expenses and cash flow. Identifies and manages risks, pursues opportunities, and ensures reporting through project reviews. Captures and shares lessons learned. Ensures formal project closure and customer acceptance.
- Contract claims and procurement management: Applies contract and claims management, coordinates with Supply Chain Management, procures services, materials and equipment, and supports supplier negotiations, claims and project changes.
- Stakeholder relations: Acts as key contact for the customer and escalation point for project issues; maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders and communicates effectively.
- Health, safety, and environment (HSE): Ensures compliance with HSE policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor\'s or Master’s degree in an engineering field
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Project Management of medium size projects within multinational EPC environments, with proven experience on construction sites
- Experience in Electrical System industry (T&D or Power Generation) and familiarity with Italian utilities (Terna/Enel/Edison) is a plus
- Experience managing projects under different contractual models in both Italian public and private sectors (e.g., FIDIC, Codice dei Contratti Pubblici)
- Fluent in English; native Italian
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, SAP and Microsoft Project
- Proactive and highly organized, experience coordinating multiple teams including in remote locations
- Willingness to travel nationally and internationally (average 25%)
