An established company in Italy is looking for a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to design and manage Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes clusters. The role requires strong expertise in DevOps practices and cloud infrastructure management with a focus on scalability and reliability. Ideal candidates should have experience with Kafka, observability stacks, and collaborative skills in a team environment.

Competenze

• 3+ years of experience in enterprise IT infrastructure and platform delivery.
• 2 years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift in production environments.
• Strong knowledge of Kafka (distributed architecture replication high availability).
• Expertise in DevOps and automation practices.

Descrizione del lavoro

Key accountabilities

• Design deploy configure and manage Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes clusters across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Ensure scalability reliability and performance of hybrid and multicloud infrastructures (AWS Azure GCP).
• Operate and optimize Apache Kafka clusters including Mirror / MirrorMaker configurations for replication and resilience.
• Support database platforms such as MongoDB PostgreSQL and MySQL (replication scaling backups) considered a plus.
• Implement observability and monitoring solutions using OpenTelemetry Prometheus / Grafana and Elastic.
• Drive DevOps / GitOps practices through automation with Ansible CI / CD pipelines (Jenkins GitHub Actions GitLab CI ArgoCD) and scripting (Bash Python Go YAML).
• Manage security authentication and authorization (certificates encryption keys RBAC LDAP / IDM integration).
• Oversee the infrastructure lifecycle : provisioning scaling upgrades and decommissioning of platform components.
• Collaborate with internal IT and application teams to deliver secure reliable and scalable infrastructure solutions .
• Experience with IBM Power systems in containerized environments is considered a plus.
• Experience with virtualization and hyperconverged platforms including OpenShift Virtualization Nutanix VMware KVM or similar is a plus.

Who You Are

• 36 years of experience in enterprise IT infrastructure and platform delivery.
• 2 years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes / OpenShift in production environments.
• Strong knowledge of Kafka (distributed architecture replication high availability).
• Familiarity with MongoDB PostgreSQL MySQL or other database platforms.
• Expertise in DevOps and automation practices.
• Understanding of hybrid cloud architectures and platform engineering .
• Experience with observability stacks (OpenTelemetry Prometheus / Grafana Elastic).
• Experience with virtualization platforms (OpenShift Virtualization Nutanix VMware KVM) is considered a plus.
• Strong engineering mindset focused on automation lifecycle management and delivery.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills within internal teams.

Preferred Certifications

• Red Hat Certified OpenShift Administrator (RHCSA / RHCA)
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
• Certifications in cloud platforms databases DevOps tools or virtualization technologies are a plus
