Maersk and APM Terminals are seeking a Senior Counsel Central South Europe Area to advise regional leadership, manage legal risk, and support business growth across multiple jurisdictions. This role provides legal support for maritime, logistics, and terminal operations and requires presence in both Genoa and Vado.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal advice on commercial, regulatory, and operational matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements (service contracts, joint ventures, concession agreements).
  • Ensure compliance with EU and local laws, including competition, sanctions, export controls, and environmental regulations.
  • Support corporate governance and legal entity management across the region.
  • Manage external counsel, disputes, and regulatory investigations.
  • Lead legal projects and mentor junior lawyers.
  • Collaborate with business teams to align legal strategy with commercial goals.
  • Improve legal processes and deliver training initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Qualified Italian lawyer with 8–10 years’ experience.
  • Background in maritime, logistics, or terminal operations.
  • Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of EU competition, sanctions, export control, and environmental laws.
  • Experience leading legal projects and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Experience with corporate governance and cross-border legal entity management.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented mindset in an international, fast-paced environment.
  • Italian and English language proficiency are a must.
