Role Overview

We’re building JimdoPay—an integrated payment solution that enables solopreneurs with a complete list of payment capabilities, from payments to smart transaction management and many more. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you’ll join our team at an early stage and help shape key features like embedded payments, link‑to‑pay, and smart quoting tools. You’ll work across backend to deliver secure, scalable services built on top of the best PSPs, all while collaborating closely with product, design, and engineering.

Your Impact

• Build REST APIs with Kotlin or Java with a keen focus on scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Implement secure, performant integrations with payment APIs.
• Design and build RESTful services and event‑driven architectures.
• Manage data storage using relational databases.
• Contribute to CI / CD pipelines and testing automation.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.

What You Bring

• 6+ years in backend software development.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin or Java.
• Demonstrated expertise in REST API design.
• Deep experience with PostgreSQL and transactional workflows.
• Practical exposure to Stripe or similar payment platforms.
• Experience working with Kafka or equivalent messaging systems.
• Hands‑on knowledge of Linux environments.
• Background in application security and secure coding principles.
