The Railway Warehouse Attendant is responsible for the management and organization of goods within the warehouse, on behalf of Technical Management.

This role ensures the proper execution of receiving, unloading, stocking, packing, handling, recording, and distributing products.

The Railway Warehouse Attendant liaises directly with Technical Management and ensures that documentation supporting accurate accounting is managed consistently with company policies and administrative guidelines, with a focus on efficiency.

The work location is Marghera, Venice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receiving Goods:
  • Receive and inspect incoming goods, verifying correspondence with purchase orders and shipping documents
  • Verify the integrity (quality, quantity) of the merchandise
  • Report any order discrepancies or damages to the Maintenance Manager ECM 4, tracking the discrepancy according to the associated IT procedure
  • Perform loading/unloading operations
  • Transfer shipping documents (DDT) and loading information to Administration using the company ERP system (Workday)
  • Storage and Organization:
  • Organize and store goods in appropriate locations within the warehouse, adhering to storage instructions provided by the Maintenance Manager ECM 4
  • Label products according to internal instructions
  • Ensure that goods are properly labeled and easily accessible
  • Retrieve goods (unloading) based on production or sales orders
  • Manage the traceability of goods: daily, record incoming and outgoing materials from the warehouse electronically
  • Handling of Goods:
  • Retrieve goods (execution of unloading) based on production or sales orders
  • Operate handling tools and equipment (forklifts, pallet trucks, etc.) safely and effectively
  • Inventory and Stock Control:
  • Conduct periodic stock checks with Administration personnel (according to policy) and update inventory records
  • Report any stock discrepancies to the Maintenance Manager ECM 4 and Administration
  • Verify the adequacy of minimum stock levels relative to needs; propose quantity adjustments to the Maintenance Manager ECM 4 as necessary
  • Alert the Maintenance Manager ECM 4 in case of the need for replenishment
  • Order Preparation and Shipping:
  • Prepare and pack orders for shipment, ensuring they are complete, correctly labeled, and packaged in accordance with current regulations
  • Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager ECM 4 to ensure timely delivery of orders
  • Prepare shipping documents (DDT), then contact and agree with carriers/forwarders
  • Transfer all shipping and unloading documents to Administration using company procedures and the ERP system (Workday)
  • Safety and Maintenance:
  • Maintain the order and cleanliness of the warehouse
  • Comply with safety regulations and properly use personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Report any safety or equipment maintenance issues to the Maintenance Manager ECM 4 promptly
  • Documentation and Communication:
  • Complete and maintain up-to-date documents relating to warehouse operations according to the expectations of the Maintenance Manager ECM 4 (warehouse procedures, delivery notes, inventory records, etc.) and administrative procedures
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and the Maintenance Manager ECM 4 to ensure smooth management of warehouse activities
  • Prepare reports for the allocation of materials to various orders
  • Miscellaneous:
  • Assist other company warehouse staff with unforeseen warehouse activities during various company phases (seasonal and off-season)

Requirements

What You Will Bring:

  • Prior experience in a similar role
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Word, Excel, and warehouse management software; ability to use a computer effectively
  • Knowledge of warehouse procedures and safety regulations
  • Proficiency in operating handling tools and equipment (at a minimum: forklifts, pallet trucks)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate effectively
  • Proactive and rigorous approach to work
  • Intermediate level of English proficiency.
