Protein Trader

We are seeking an experienced and driven Protein Trader to join our team, focusing on developing and expanding our protein trading activities within specific regional strategies. The successful candidate will be responsible for maximizing profitability, fostering strong client relationships, and contributing to our short and medium‑term business objectives in a designated country or region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and capitalize on protein trading opportunities, including market analysis and deal sourcing.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with strategic customers and suppliers to ensure long‑term partnerships.
  • Actively contribute to the development and refinement of local business strategies.
  • Execute trading activities to achieve ambitious budget and sales targets within the assigned territory, aligning with defined risk parameters.
  • Monitor and analyze regional market dynamics, trends, and mechanisms to anticipate future needs and opportunities.
  • Serve as an internal expert, advisor, and trainer, actively supporting local sales and trading teams in their customer engagement efforts.
  • Ensure seamless coordination among internal departments including Operations, Execution, Logistics, and Finance to guarantee efficient fulfillment of sales commitments.
  • Evaluate specific field conditions and environmental factors (e.g., regulations, feedstocks, competition) to forecast consumption and production estimates, where applicable.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Agriculture, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5-10 years of proven experience in commodities trading, with a strong preference for protein trading.
  • Language: Fluency in English and Italian is essential.
  • Strong achievement orientation and results‑driven mindset.
  • Excellent negotiation and persuasion skills.
  • Demonstrated impact and influence capabilities.
  • Decisive and proactive decision‑maker.
  • Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • High degree of openness, integrity, and trustworthiness.
