A leading engineering firm in Italy seeks a Proposal Junior Engineer to support cost evaluations in various categories. The role involves preparing analysis reports, defining cost estimation models, and maintaining vendor relationships. Candidates should hold a technical degree, be proficient in Excel, and have strong interpersonal skills. Fluent English and willingness to travel are essential for this position.

The Proposal Junior Engineer works in support of activities pertaining the economic evaluation of the following categories in scope, accordingly to the candidate skills and experience : The Control Systems Equipment and Materials; The MV and LV Electrical Equipment and Materials; The Fired Heaters Equipment. The analyst is called to define the purchasing benchmark (Should Cost) considering the material costs of different regions (EU, Fareast, Middle East, USA) based on the procurement strategy applied on the EP / EPC projects.

Key activities & responsibilities

• The Proposal Junior Engineer, reporting to the Should Cost Group Director, is called to perform the following activities for one of the a.m. categories, accordingly to the experience and background :
• To prepare the report of the analysis to be shared with the internal departs and projects involved.
• To define the cost estimation models for one of the a.m. categories, following the “Bottom Up” approach
• To participate to identify the cost parameters and to organize a database for parametric evaluation of material costs based on previous purchasing
• To prepare the Should Cost analysis of one of the a.m. categories, defining the benchmark for purchasing as per the current market price conditions
• Keep relationship with vendors and sub-vendors for updating of the costs' database following the Group's procedures
• To assist and support the purchasing department, when required, during the negotiation with the vendors
• To analyze discrepancies between the S.C. analysis result and market's feedback and propose corrective actions to improve internal cost's models

Personal Attributes

• Preferably first level degree in technical / Engineering discipline
• Good command of Microsoft Office packages and in particular with Excel
• Strong interpersonal, team-oriented skills, self-motivation, and direction, with a strong bias toward timely performance and problem resolution.
• Fluent English
• Availability to travel for short and long period in Italy and abroad
