Overview
Hitachi Energy Italy S.P.A. invites applications for a Project Technical Engineer in the Grid & Power Quality Solutions department. The role focuses on electromechanical design of substations and power systems within large grid projects in Europe.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the primary electromechanical scope to ensure integrity and correct function of substation systems.
- Prepare and review technical specifications and validate equipment.
- Ensure 3D design/models and resolve interferences between civil and electromechanical disciplines.
- Ensure compliance with CEI/IEC/EN standards, Italian grid codes, and Hitachi Energy QHSE requirements.
- Coordinate with civil and secondary engineers for complete interfaces and constructability.
- Support the project team with claims related to changes in the primary scope, assessing cost, time, and risks.
- Collaborate with engineering colleagues to share best practices and develop leadership coordination and communication skills.
- Support the development of project deliverables during the tender phase by coordinating and preparing documentation, creating engineering estimates, and performing risk assessments.
- Support installation testing and commissioning, respond to site queries, review as‑builts, and facilitate customer handover.
- Engage customers as a trusted technical partner, clarify requirements, present solutions, and capture lessons learned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Solid track record in electromechanical design of substants (AIS or GIS).
- Relevant high voltage apparatus experience and knowledge.
- Commitment to safety, adherence to workplace safety guidelines, high self‑motivation, and curiosity for new technologies.
- Collaborative and solutions‑oriented approach with strong communication skills.
- Knowledge of power systems, renewable energy, transmission systems.
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Italian (mandatory); additional languages appreciated.
- BIM/3D methodology knowledge is a plus.
