Postdoctoral Fellow (Level A)

Join the School of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences (BABS) at UNSW to contribute to cutting‑edge research in biotechnology, molecular and cellular biology, and microbiology.

About the Role
  • Salary: $113K – $121K plus 17% superannuation and annual leave loading
  • Fixed term: 2.5 years
  • Full time: 35 hours per week
  • Reports to: Associate Professor Vladimir Sytnyk, no direct reports
Specific Responsibilities
  • Conduct independent or collaborative research to enhance the quality of research outcomes in the discipline area.
  • Undertake specific research projects under the guidance of a research leader.
  • Support dissemination of research outcomes through appropriate channels and outlets.
  • Assist the supervision of research students as required.
  • Prepare weekly reports and attend regular (once per week) online meetings with collaborators nationwide.
  • Assist with animal monitoring and animal experiments where required.
  • Align with and actively demonstrate the Code of Conduct and Values.
  • >Cooperate with all health and safety policies and procedures of UNSW.
Selection Criteria
  • A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake high quality academic research and conduct independent research with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations.
  • Evidence of highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities.
  • Commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action.
