Position Summary

Position as Staff Scientist/Academic Research Staff in the Andersen Group at BRIC, University of Copenhagen. This role focuses on translational medicine in primary human liver and biliary tract cancers.

Research Focus

The group employs genome-wide and high-throughput techniques to characterize tumor heterogeneity, identify prognostic and predictive biomarkers and study drug response. Techniques include genomic, epigenomic, metabolomic profiling, high-throughput screening, patient-derived 3D cell cultures and in‑vivo models.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute independent research projects within the group, using CRISPR/Cas, cloning, ChIP‑seq, proteomics, and other molecular and biochemical methods.

• Analyse and interpret data from high-throughput experiments and integrate with clinical information.

• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary colleagues and national/international partners.

Qualifications
  • A PhD (or equivalent) in life sciences (molecular cell biology or biochemistry).
  • Documented experience in liver and hepatobiliary biology.
  • Previous experience with CRISPR/Cas9, cloning, ChIP‑seq and proteomics.
  • Broad knowledge of biochemical techniques and data analysis.
  • Ability to independently envision, plan, and execute a research project.
  • Strong collaborative skills; experience in multidisciplinary environments.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
Employment Details

Place of employment: BRIC, University of Copenhagen. Start: 01‑02‑2026 (Feb 2026). Duration: 9 months (short term). Working hours: 37 per week.

Salary: Academic employee level with potential supplement. Employer contributes 18.07 % to pension. Tax reductions may apply for eligible non‑Danish and Danish applicants.
