Job Description
Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self‑motivated Planner who thrives in a fast‑paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Naples - IT
Responsibilities
- Follow planning guidelines that support and encourage good planning.
- Collaborate with project validation test managers to manage a sustainable test program.
- Work closely with the Project Management Office (PMO) and the Rolling Stock Planning (RS) team to ensure that the planning of managed projects integrates with the PMO and the Rolling Stock Planning team.
- Guide the Project Validation Teams of managed projects through the development of Project Validation Programs.
- Develop reports and KPIs to support resource forecasting delivery efficiency and monitoring the performance of the Project Validation Team.
- Update the Validation Program of managed projects once a week to support progress monitoring and future planning.
- Support what-if scenario planning when necessary.
- Manage and monitor schedule changes.
- Drive risk quantification in terms of impact on delivery times of managed projects to ensure that sufficient contingency plans are included.
Required Skills
- The role holder will be expected to collaborate with the relevant test managers to solve complex planning optimization problems identifying how to achieve the best results with minimal and / or limited resources.
- The role holder will also be expected to understand the reporting and data needs of other planning functions and develop solutions to meet role holder will have to communicate effectively with staff within the team the PMO the RS Planning Team and the wider project team.
- The role holder needs to be comfortable constructively challenging Engineers and Managers to ensure plans are neither too optimistic nor pessimistic.
- Proven project planning skills in a technical environment.
- Good IT ability to work successfully in a multi-disciplinary engineering / technical team
- Demonstrate excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Self-starter with ability to develop strong constructive and focused relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all organisation levels.
- Excellent communicator - verbally and written
- Good attention to detail
- Able to work under pressure.

Engineering degree
Languages
Fluency in Italian and English is required.
