Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for an MLOps Engineer (Python) for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Europe. Our client is a broker platform that provides brokers with real-time risk capacity, anytime, anywhere. It represents a genuine step change from the current manual and time-consuming process available on the market, providing an unprecedented level of service to brokers and clients. It is a first-of-its-kind digital model that claims to deliver a unique advantage to its business partners. It is the first fully digital and automatically driven Lloyd’s of London syndicate. We’re looking for a Consultant MLOps Engineer with strong software engineering fundamentals and practical knowledge of MLOps tooling and practices.

You'll join the Property Squad, which focuses on developing data-driven tools to streamline insurance quoting, enhance user experience, and improve the profitability and scalability of property portfolios. This is a hands-on engineering role, best suited for a strong Python and Kotlin developer with an interest in MLOps infrastructure and workflows.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a strong MLOps focus.
  • Deep knowledge of Python and hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Proven experience building CI / CD pipelines for ML model deployment.
  • Practical experience with MLFlow and other model lifecycle tooling.
  • Strong understanding of ETL, especially around Feature Store management.
  • Familiarity with geospatial systems and indexing (e.g., H3).
  • Experience in integrating ML models into production environments.
  • Strong problem-solving, coaching, and collaboration skills.
  • Comfortable working in a distributed, asynchronous environment.
  • Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum / Kanban).
  • Familiar with tools like Jira for workflow management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Nice to Have
  • Familiarity with Kotlin or Java.
  • Background in insurance, fintech, or other regulated domains.
  • Prior exposure to model monitoring and governance best practices.
Responsibilities
  • Model Deployment & Maintenance: Build and manage CI / CD pipelines for Asset and Policy RAM models. Package models using MLflow, containerize them, and maintain runtime diagnostics.
  • Feature Store ETL: Maintain and extend connectors (AIR ingestion, Pub / Sub integration, asset-level features).
  • Claims Matching Pipeline: Automate ingestion of LLM-extracted claims and align with exposure records.
  • Geospatial Data Systems: Implement and extend systems using H3 indexing and open geospatial datasets.
  • Monitoring & Observability: Build and manage alerting systems, troubleshoot production issues, and support Data Scientists.
  • Infrastructure Support & Tech Debt: Improve server stability, evolve RAM architecture, and support updated model deployment.
  • MLOps Coaching: Coach team members on Kedro, MLflow, model testing, and production best practices.
  • Cross-Squad Collaboration: Liaise with the Model Ops (MOPs) team, resolve Feature Store delays, and manage infra-level dependencies.
