A global contract manufacturer in Parma is looking for a Junior Metrologist to handle dimensional checks and measurement activities on mechanical components. Key responsibilities include performing measurements using advanced instruments, analyzing technical drawings, and developing Python programs. An ideal candidate has a mechanical engineering background and English proficiency. Training will be provided, with a full-time schedule from Monday to Friday.

Competenze

  • High school diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education/experience.
  • No prior experience in the role is required.
  • English language proficiency required (B2/C1 level).

Mansioni

  • Performing measurements and dimensional checks using measuring instruments and software.
  • Detailed analysis and interpretation of 2D technical drawings.
  • Verifying dimensional and geometric tolerances.
  • Developing Python programs for automating measurement tasks.
  • Preparing technical reports in both Italian and English.

For our headquarter in Rubbiano (PR) we are looking for a Junior Metrologist who will be responsible for dimensional checks and measurement activities on mechanical components using precision instruments such as Structured Light Scanners and CMM machines.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performing measurements and dimensional checks using measuring instruments and advanced software
  • Detailed analysis and interpretation of 2D technical drawings
  • Verifying dimensional and geometric tolerances
  • Using CAD software and measuring tools (SolidWorks, PCDMIS, Atos / G-Inspect / Z-Inspect, calipers, micrometers…)
  • Developing Python programs for automating measurement tasks and data analysis
  • Preparing technical reports in both Italian and English
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This role does not include supervision of other team members.

EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma in Mechanical Engineering, ITS with a mechanical focus, Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent education / experience
  • No prior experience in the role is required;
  • English language proficiency required (B2 / C1 level)

on-the-job training will be provided

SKILLS : TECHNICAL
  • Knowledge of technical drawing and tolerances (datum, linear and geometric tolerances)
  • Proficiency in CAD software (preferably SolidWorks)
  • Python programming skills (even a beginner level is acceptable, to be developed over time)
  • Basic knowledge of measuring instruments
SOFT SKILLS
  • Strong willingness to learn

WORK ENVIRONMENT

PHYSICAL DEMAND

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 25-30 kg. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday 8am to 17.30pm, with additional hours as business needs necessitate.

TRAVEL

Occasional overseas and domestic travel may be required to support the rapid growth of the company.
