About the Role
As a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician, you will support the Operations Maintenance team in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building. You will install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment. In addition to skill development, you will mentor junior technicians to grow in their roles.

Key Job Responsibilities
- Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures
- Complete preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all MHE (belts, motors, photo‑eyes, relays, etc.)
- Maintain a positive working relationship across all Amazon Operations facilities
- Track and store department inventory
- Move up to 49 lbs; stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation
Typical Shift Schedule
- Front Half Day: 4 days on, 3 days off (e.g., Sunday–Wednesday); 6:00 AM–4:30 PM with a 30‑minute break.
- Back Half Day: 4 days on, 3 days off (e.g., Wednesday–Saturday); 7:00 AM–5:30 PM with a 30‑minute break.
- Front Half Night: 4 days on, 3 days off; 6:00 PM–4:30 AM with a 30‑minute break.
- Back Half Night: 4 days on, 3 days off; 7:00 PM–5:30 AM with a 30‑minute break.
Basic Qualifications
- High school or equivalent diploma
- 1+ years of Microsoft Office experience
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- 2+ years of predictive and preventative maintenance procedures experience
- 2+ years repairing material handling equipment (MHE), automated conveyor systems, or related mechanical/controls equipment
- 2+ years reading blueprints and electrical schematics
- 2+ years demonstrating safety standards
- 1+ years troubleshooting and diagnostics of MHE
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or higher in Mechanical or Electrical field
- 2+ years apprenticeship or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical field
- Able to troubleshoot basic input and output functions of building operations
- Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Willingness to learn and grow within Amazon RME
- Experience with MHE safety standards per OEM and safety standards
- 2+ years working with PLC‑based controls systems
- 2+ years knowledge of electrical and electronic principles
- Experience with robotic operation and maintenance
Compensation
Base pay ranges from $58,760/year in the lowest geographic market up to $78,104/year in the highest. Pay varies by location and may include equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation. For more information, visit Amazon Employee Benefits.
