A leading global retailer is seeking a Reliability Maintenance Engineering Area Manager in Tuscany, Italy. As a Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) Area Manager, you’ll bring together the elements that make our working environment as supportive and efficient as possible. Your focus will be to lead and mentor a team of expert technicians dedicated to equipment reliability.

  • Support colleagues in site compliance with safety policies and procedures
  • Implement EU network standards, plan preventative maintenance and ensure technical availability
  • Collaborate with colleagues to collect and analyse data to improve processes
  • Deliver and support both site‑based and network‑level projects
  • Lead, support and mentor your team to develop their career
A Day in the Life

You’ll be based at one of our operational sites, where you’ll give practical guidance to your team and gain a clear vision of what’s happening at your site. This involves collecting data and solving problems in a fast‑paced environment, creating an operational plan to improve productivity and efficiency, and managing your team’s performance and development, including organising additional training.

About the Team

Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering team keeps equipment performing its best. We handle most aspects of Amazon’s technical side, from installing automated packaging systems to maintaining key distribution equipment. Our work focuses on reducing downtime in Amazon’s crucial operations sites, ensuring customers receive their orders on time. Opportunities for progression exist both within the RME team and across Amazon.

Basic Qualifications
  • Relevant experience as part of a maintenance team in an industrial or production environment handling a variety of complex business processes
  • Relevant experience managing people in an engineering team
  • Experience liaising and managing relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including third‑party vendors
  • Advanced proficiency in written and spoken English and upper intermediate proficiency in local language
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Engineering or another technical field
  • UK Higher National Diploma (HND), Higher National Certificate (HNC), BTEC National Diploma (OND), Ieng, CEng or ILM L4+
  • Experience with statutory regulations such as compliance checks and machine safety protocols
  • Experience with automated equipment, including packaging machinery, sortation and conveyor systems
  • Experience using data analysis tools and PLC‑based control systems
  • Experience with project management or Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma processes
  • Experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
