Overview

Machine Learning Engineer - Personalization at Amazon Prime Video. Prime Video is a destination for premium programming across devices. As a Prime Video technologist, you’ll have end-to-end ownership of product, user experience, design, and technology to deliver state-of-the-art experiences. You’ll work on fast-paced, challenging projects, experiment with new possibilities, take risks, and collaborate with remarkable people. We seek diverse perspectives, ideas, and skill-sets to improve Prime Video for customers, with global opportunities for technologists.

Key responsibilities

• Develop ML models for various recommendation & search systems using deep learning, online learning, and optimization methods
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and product managers to expand product insights with data, and design experiments to identify high-impact projects for roadmaps
• Stay up-to-date with advancements and the latest modeling techniques in the field
• Publish research findings in top conferences and journals

A day in the life

Work with advanced approaches such as foundation models to connect information about videos and customers from multiple sources, acquiring and processing large-scale data. Build highly scalable page personalization solutions to improve recommendations, including addressing cold-start scenarios and uncovering niche user interests. You will lead as a research and hands-on ML practitioner, guiding teams of engineers and scientists and collaborating with senior leaders in Prime Video. There will be opportunities to publish research internally and externally.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of building models for business applications
• PhD, or Master's degree with 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
• Experience in algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, or high-performance computing

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using Unix/Linux
• Experience in professional software development

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on market location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
