Join AirAdvisor – Innovate, Lead, and Make an Impact. We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Litigation Lawyer specializing in consumer flight claims to lead in-court collections in Italy. The role involves filing batches of court cases to recover compensation and/or reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses for passengers, with pre-court collections managed by a team of paralegals. This is a high-impact, results-driven opportunity in a fast-growing startup focused on international expansion and passenger rights in the airline industry.

Responsibilities
- Act as the legal representative of AirAdvisor in Italy, handling all legal matters and claims within the jurisdiction.
- Prepare and file batches of approximately 200+ new claims monthly in Italian courts against various airlines for compensation and/or reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses (OPE) and ticket refunds.
- Manage pre-court collections and out-of-court settlements; lead enforcement of court judgments and coordinate with enforcement authorities when necessary.
- Handle baggage-related claims (delayed, damaged, or lost luggage) under the Montreal Convention and/or Warsaw Convention.
- Respond to airline defenses, engage in court-led settlement negotiations, and pursue legal remedies including appeals where feasible.
- Conduct legal research and comparative analysis to support best practices in airline and consumer rights litigation.
- Stay informed on developments in consumer protection law, aviation regulations, EU regulations, and judicial precedents.
- Support the optimization and automation of claims management workflows, including AI-based tools.
- Identify and propose new civil claims opportunities viable under Italian law and manage cross-jurisdictional research across EU/UK markets.
- Represent AirAdvisor in local media and coordinate with PR to raise public awareness of passenger rights.
- Review and vet content to build local trust and authority; advocate for passenger and consumer rights within the airline industry.
Requirements
- A valid Attorney at Law license in Italy and professional liability insurance.
- A law degree from an accredited institution.
- Experience with small claims, consumer rights, or aviation law is a plus but not required.
- Knowledge of relevant consumer protection laws and aviation regulations is a plus but not required.
- Proven track record of success in in-court collection.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to assess case merits, conduct legal research, and develop effective legal strategies.
- Ability to manage a caseload, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and track statute of limitations.
- Experience in automating and standardizing claims management processes to scale quickly.
