You will lead the technical strategy of Baker Hughes offering in agreement with the project team/functions. You will be the main technical interface between customer and Baker Hughes during the Inquiry To Order (ITO) phase.

Your key role is to translate customer’s needs, detailed in the RFQ (Request for Quotation), into the most competitive technical solution leveraging CC product portfolio and technology.

As Lead Application Engineer - Centrifugal Compressor, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing, managing and negotiating the Baker Hughes technical proposal relevant to CC applications. Responsible for the estimation/accuracy of the budget associated with the proposed solution.

  • Leading the definition of the technical strategy of the project thus influencing customer towards Baker Hughes solutions by properly accounting for competitors’ technical strengths and weakness versus Baker Hughes offering/capabilities

  • Preparing, within the required timeline, the most competitive technical proposal at first submission (i.e. including but not limited to the design/selection of compressor and his auxiliary systems) using ITO tools and following ITO policies and procedures, implementing, where appropriate, innovative technology (NPD).

  • Applying product and quality policies, addressing and mitigating any risks as per Baker Hughes procedures

  • Leading the technical negotiation, coordinating with supporting functions and attending meetings/presentations with customer.

  • Handing-over the technical contract to execution team in case of award

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Mechanical or Energy.

  • Have very good experience in Engineering, Application Engineering, Technical Sales.

  • Have experience in Centrifugal Compressor/ Rotating Equipment's/ Gas Turbines

  • Be fluent in English (spoken and written).

  • Have influence leadership skill & commercial acumen.

  • Be willing to work on stretched deadlines with flexible time management

  • Have the ability to travel on short notice

  • Have exceptional verbal and non-verbal communication skills for preparing proposals, conducting meetings, answering sales/customer questions, and writing/explaining technical aspects with dedicated presentations
