A leading engineering firm in Rome is seeking a Junior Composite Design Engineer to support major defense projects. The role involves designing composite components, using NX CAD, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Ideal candidates will have a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 3 years of experience in composite design. This position offers the possibility of partial remote work.

RINA is currently recruiting for a Junior Composite Design Engineer to join its office in Rome within the Mechanical and Materials Engineering Division.

Mission

RINA is looking for a Composite Design Engineer to support a major defence project in Rome, with the possibility of partial remote work. The candidate will contribute to the design and development of composite components and tooling for advanced defence systems.

Key Accountabilities

• Design composite components and define plybooks using Fibersim and NX CAD.
• Design moulds and lamination tools for autoclave manufacturing processes.
• Ensure compliance with MIL and IEC standards throughout the design process.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in design reviews.
• Manage product data and documentation using Teamcenter PLM.
• Support manufacturability assessments and process optimization.

Education

Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in composite design, preferably in the defence sector.
• Proficient in NX CAD, Teamcenter, and Fibersim.
• Solid understanding of autoclave processes and composite layup techniques.
• Familiarity with MIL and IEC standards.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
