NIER is growing and seeking a junior engineer to join the Systems Engineering team, focusing on activities related to the railway industry.

Permanent position: BOLOGNA, NAPOLI. The preferred final location should be specified during the interview process.
Key activities include:
- Development and validation activities for railway and metro equipment and systems, which may involve:
- Requirements management and verification;
- Functional safety analysis;
- Reliability, availability, maintainability analysis;
- Conformance checks to standards and regulations.
Candidate requirements:
- Degree in engineering (preferably electronics, electrical, nuclear, mechanical, aerospace, biomedical);
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office;
- Fluent Italian (spoken and written);
- Good English skills (spoken and written, at least B1 level);
- Problem-solving skills, goal orientation, flexibility, motivation, teamwork ability;
- Willingness to travel nationally;
- Knowledge of railway regulations, signaling principles, and system architecture (e.g., ERTMS);
- Understanding of international safety standards (IEC61508, EN50126, EN50129, IEC 61226, IEC 61513, ISO26262, IEC61511, IEC62061);
- Knowledge of European directives (e.g., machinery, electromagnetic compatibility);
- Familiarity with software tools for requirements management and verification (e.g., DOORS, POLARION);
- Programming knowledge with DOORS Extension Language (DXL);
- Understanding of RAMS engineering methods (e.g., FMEA/FMECA), techniques (e.g., RBD, FTA), and related software tools (e.g., FaultTree+, ALD-RAM Commander, Reliasoft-Blocksim);
- Willingness to travel internationally.
