Introduction

This is an exceptional opportunity for an accomplished Chief Technical Officer to lead the technological vision of a pioneering European space company. The position offers the opportunity to coordinate engineering across optical, mechanical, and electronic systems, driving the company’s R&D strategy and future product development.

The Opportunity

You’ll join an industry leader in advanced opto-mechanical solutions for space applications. With a strong engineering culture and global reputation for precision and innovation, the company is seeking a forward-thinking technical leader to shape its technology roadmap, strengthen cross-domain collaboration, and foster excellence across engineering teams.

As CTO, you’ll define long-term technical direction, support system architecture decisions, and ensure consistent standards of quality, performance, and innovation across the company’s product lines. This role reports directly to the group CEO.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and maintain the company’s long‑term technology roadmap.
  • Oversee R&D programs aimed at developing reusable and scalable solutions.
  • Lead engineering capability heads across mechanical, optical, electronic, and systems domains.
  • Drive convergence, efficiency, and standardisation in technical processes.
  • Support key system‑level design decisions in collaboration with project teams.
  • Promote adoption of digital tools, modelling, and simulation in product development.
  • Represent the company in innovation partnerships with academia and industry.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Degree in Aerospace Engineering or related technical discipline.
