A leading insurance firm in Milan is seeking a Business Controller to support and manage financial planning and budgeting processes. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in business administration or economics and at least 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably within the insurance sector. This role is centered on developing financial strategies and optimizing costs.

Responsibilities

• Support and manage the planning and budgeting process and periodic forecasting for the LoB and sub-region.
• Prepare and present accurate financial reports, ensuring they align with corporate guidelines.
• Support P&C Managers for Sub-regions (Tribe Lead) during the closing and trend activities, focusing on performance analysis and understanding key drivers by market and BP.
• Collaborate with the Head of Planning & Controlling of the LoB to develop financial strategies that support business goals.
• Support projects impacting the LoB or cross-LoB areas.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimization and implement measures to enhance financial efficiency in the LoB and sub-region.

What you bring

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, or related fields (applied mathematics).
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in the Financial Department, ideally in an international environment and/or insurance sector.
• Proven experience as a Business Controller or similar financial management role.
• Strong knowledge of financial planning, analysis, and control principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
• High level of integrity, attention to detail, and a proactive work approach.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, and database management.
• Excellent command of English (oral and written).
• Ability to optimize data flow and storage across systems through effective data management.
• Capability to operate in regional and local scopes within multicultural environments.

Please note this is a 12-month fixed-term position.
