Job Description

Hitachi Rail seeks an enthusiastic, self‑motivated Construction Manager to thrive in a fast‑paced environment. The role is based in Turin and involves national and international construction projects on a fixed term.

Accountabilities
  • Ensure quality of works, compliance with design and specifications.
  • Ensure construction activities align with the construction plan.
  • Liaise with customers, authorities, contractors, partners and subcontractors for site and material takeovers and handovers.
  • Ensure on‑site compliance with HSE management plan rules for responsible works.
  • Optimize internal and external resources, based on project budget and planning.
  • Develop site‑specific plans to be implemented within the project program and budget, in agreement with the Construction Manager.
  • Continuously update and improve processes and procedures.
  • Support the Construction Manager to coordinate material availability on site in accordance with the agreed schedule with customer and subcontractors.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Up to 5 years of on‑site activities, workforce management, technical control and coordination.
  • Experience level: Experienced (Non‑Manager).
  • Working knowledge of Windows and Office.
  • Experience and fluency in technical drawing and reporting.
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Project (plus).
  • Knowledge of signalling, power supply and traction power technology systems.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Health, Safety and Environment awareness.
  • Valid driving licence (Sweden) and availability to drive.
  • Open to discuss travel or long‑term assignment to national or foreign construction projects.
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Basic to average working knowledge of rail transit subsystems; experience on metro site works is a plus.
  • Self‑confident, communicative and a team worker.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma in Electric/Mechanic/TLC with 2–5 years of certified work experience in railway/metro site electromechanical or civil works.
  • Engineering university degree or equivalent technical background with 1 year of work experience in railway/metro site electromechanical or civil works.
Languages

English proficiency.
