A leading healthcare software company is seeking a Cloud Database Administrator for its Costa Volpino office. The role focuses on managing and optimizing cloud-based databases, contributing to data security, and supporting development teams. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in database administration and a strong communication skillset, especially in English. This position follows a hybrid working policy, requiring onsite presence three days a week.

For our offices in Costa Volpino , we are looking for a Cloud Database Administrator, Database manager expert to manage database configuration, availability and correct operations in a multi-paradigm database environment, monitor and provide for availability and disaster recovery and will contribute to the evolution of our data stores

This position has to cover best practices regarding Database management in a Cloud application, with the focus on data scalability, performance and availability.

Main tasks of the position:

He/She will support and consult the development teams in the design, setup and operations of our databases following best practices of managing data in the context of a cloud application

Minimum requirement:

• University Degree in Computer Science or Information technology Engineering or comparable working experience
• at least 4 years of professional experience and expertise in database administration with at least 2 years of experience in database administration in the context of a cloud-based distributed application
• Good communication skills and proficiency in English.

Database Administration:

• He/She has proven, practical knowledge of relational databases (Postgres, SQL Server, H2) and No-SQL databases;
• is experienced in setup, administration and performance tuning (indexing, query optimization) of databases for a cloud application;
• has routine experience with patching the database(s), managing permissions, configuring for high availability, troubleshooting, setting-up of metrics and sensors for monitoring.
• He/She oversee and influence cloud service providers in infrastructure management and maintenance. He/she also manages cloud infrastructure data migration, database application analysis and design, optimization testing, support and management of cloud infrastructure.
• He/She also assist in the re-architecting database structures to address data security concerns.

Database as Code:

• He/She has experience with data versioning systems (Liquibase, Flyway) and the scripted deployment of databases in a containerized environment (Kubernetes)

Co-development:

• He/She works closely with our agile development teams;
• assists developers in designing and tuning databases and queries (Liquibase, Hibernate, SQL); provides database analysis and design recommendations;

Please note that we have a hybrid working policy and we require candidates to work on site 3 days per week.
