Vacancy: Network Engineer

Location: Rome (Hybrid on-site + remote)

Salary: €200 - €300

Duration: 1 Year

Our client is a worldwide leader in innovative IT and networking technologies and they are currently looking for a Network Engineer to join their team. Applications are encouraged from UK-based candidates who are eligible to work and have the required documentation already in place

Responsibilities for the Network Engineer role include:

• Customer Engagement & Solution Design: Plans, designs, configures, and troubleshoots solutions to meet customer needs, translating business requirements into technical solutions.
• Project Leadership & Execution: Leads and executes delivery projects, creating and approving technical documents (e.g. HLDs, LLDs, implementation plans) and ensuring alignment with customer outcomes.
• Technical Support & Problem Resolution: Builds test environments, resolves complex technical issues, and acts as a focal point for troubleshooting across multiple technologies.
• Presales & Strategy Collaboration: Supports pre-sales activities, works closely with teams and partners to align strategy and optimize technology deployments.
• Innovation & Knowledge Sharing: Develops tools, scripts, and documentation; shares solutions and improvements across teams to enhance practices and services.
• Compliance & Process Adherence: Follows internal processes and policies while effectively utilizing tools to support professional services goals.

Candidates applying for the Network Engineer role will need:

• BSc Computer Science or equivalent
• 5-8 years of relevant work experience.
• Advanced degree strongly preferred.
• Must be able to communicate both written and spoken in both Italian and English

• Solid Routing & Switching knowledge, SDN (SDA, SDWAN), (Routed Optical Network -RON- nice to have), at least CCNP certification (better if CCIE)

• Ability to interact with individual contributors, managers, and customers regularly
• Provide input to Sales team in creating and demonstrating technology solutions to customers
• Engage with sales teams on pre-sales activities
• Collaborates with other Consulting Engineers in appropriate technology domains to ensure optimal use of resources to meet customer needs
