Job title

Purpose of the Job: By delegation of TSE, specify one or several train functions, and associated sub-system(s) at train level and lead technically the engineering studies to reach the required performances at train level. The role includes defining train system architecture, operational modes and functionalities, coordinating with metiers and RAMS/validation activities, and leading technical interfaces with suppliers and customers.

Responsibilities
  • Perform transverse requirement allocations to the various subsystems in close collaboration with relevant specialists.
  • Perform requirement development from Metiers, Standards, Certification, Safety, Platform and Customer documents.
  • Define Train System architecture, operational modes and functionalities based on external/internal requirements.
  • Perform Train system FMECA in coordination with the RAMS team.
  • Ensure consistency and compatibility between all subsystem specifications.
  • Write subsystem specifications and architecture descriptions (RSAD2) in collaboration with SSE/PU/TCE according to train level architecture.
  • Write Technical Purchasing Specifications (TPS0/Short Specification) when needed; develop TPS1 for supplier consultation and manage TPS2 with design freeze.
  • Drive technical relationships with suppliers with close management of QCD commitments (CbC) and risk & validation, including Design Reviews with suppliers.
  • Support TSE to define applicable train configuration and ensure coordination between TSS/PU/Metier on interfaces and resolutions during detailed design.
  • Participate in technical meetings with customers on request to provide support.
  • Define and execute Train verification strategy in collaboration with Engineering metiers, Certification & Validation teams and TSS Team and Participating Units.
  • Write train level test specifications and ensure train integration and tuning.
  • During revenue service, resolve technical issues on TSE request from investigation to modification implementation and closure.
  • Provide reporting at project level (to TSE via KPI) and at metier level (via weekly reports); support implementation and update of Engineering risk mitigation plans, change orders, and QCD optimization.
  • Provide Return of Experience to be implemented in Reference Solutions.
Qualifications and Experience
  • General technical competencies; more than 2 years in Railway engineering.
  • English language proficiency.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Team size: No hierarchical management.
