You will conduct research in translational bioinformatics related to neurological disorders, requiring expertise in RNA-seq data analysis and machine learning. Ideal candidates hold a PhD in Computational Science or Bioinformatics and possess advanced knowledge of R. This role offers immediate start under a collaborative contract.
IRCCS San Raffaele Scientific Institute in Milan, Italy, is looking for a pre or postdoctoral bioinformatician to join the lab of Immunobiology of Neurological Disorders, and unravel biological processes associated with multiple sclerosis, an inflammatory disorder of the central nervous system.
The projects of interest for this application involve research in translational bioinformatics in complex human neurological disorders. Analysis of RNA-seq datasets will provide fundamentals for the identification of pathological processes (see Grassivaro et al. J. Neurosci. 40, 2020; Severa et al. J. Autoimmunity 101 : 1, 2019; Srinivasan et al. Neurology : Neuroimmunol. Neuroinflamm. 4 (3) : e337, 2017) and machine learning-based biomarker selection for disease diagnosis and prognosis (see Acquaviva et al. Cell Report Medicine 1, 2020).
You have a PhD in Computational Science, Bioinformatics or equivalent, and expertise in analysis and modeling of human RNA-seq data, statistics, data mining and machine learning. Advanced knowledge of R and excellent communication skills in English (written and oral) are a must. Flexibility and willingness to work across multiple projects and technologies in a rapidly evolving scientific context is required.
