Enjoy flexible working options and a positive work environment where your expertise is valued.
Veterinary Surgeon – Sunderland
Are you a passionate Veterinary Surgeon ready to make a real impact in a progressive and fast paced environment? An exciting opportunity awaits at a modern, well equipped practice in Sunderland, where state‑of‑the‑art facilities include separate dog and cat wards, in‑house radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, piped gases, and a wide range of orthopaedic equipment. This is a role where your clinical expertise will be valued, and your day‑to‑day contributions will make a meaningful difference to pets and their families.
The team here is known for their collaborative spirit and wide ranging clinical interests, creating an environment rich with learning and professional growth. Whether you’re a skilled all‑rounder or have a specific area of focus, you’ll be encouraged to share your knowledge and build on your strengths. You’ll also benefit from the hospital's unique approach—measuring success by impact rather than targets, and focusing on pragmatic care with strong client engagement. The practice fosters a people first culture, where team members feel connected, supported, and inspired in their work.
Flexibility is key, with a considerate weekend rota, enhanced pay, and stand down time during the week after weekend shifts, ensuring your work‑life balance is protected. The hospital understands that a fulfilled team delivers the best care, so your wellbeing is just as important as your professional development. They are looking for someone confident in their clinical decision making and communication skills, and who thrives on variety and challenge.
Sunderland offers a great lifestyle outside of work too—think sandy beaches, vibrant city life, and easy access to the stunning countryside of the North East. If you're ready to bring your skills to a welcoming, impactful team where you can grow and thrive, this could be the perfect next step in your veterinary career!
