The post holder will work within the Integrated Contact Centres (ICC) based across the North West. As a UECC you will be responsible for the remote assessment of patients while ensuring the delivery of excellent patient care through the continuous achievement of high clinical standards. After completing initial training and a period of skill consolidation, you will have the opportunity for further development. You will then develop additional skills to meet the needs of the service, including providing clinical advice to clinical and non-clinical colleagues, mentoring staff returning to practice or new entrants, and other specialist skills such as managing the clinical queue and referring calls to partner organisations that provide Clinical Assessment Services for NWAS. It is a requirement that these additional skills are completed in a timely manner to ensure patients receive the right care, at the right time, in the right place, every time.
Salary: £38,682 – £46,580 (pro rata for part-time staff) plus A4C shift enhancements. Training for this role is on a full-time basis and lasts between 6 and 8 weeks. The classroom element of the training is Monday to Friday for 2 weeks, with mentorship taking place while working shifts with experienced staff taking live calls. Candidates must be able to commit to training in full, as no annual leave can be taken during training.
Training courses are planned throughout 2025 at venues across the North West. Specific dates will be discussed with successful candidates after an offer of employment is made. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a simulated telephone assessment (Teams) in the week commencing 22 September 2025, followed by a face-to-face interview in the week commencing 29 September 2025. If you are unavailable for any part of the process on these dates, no alternate dates will be offered.
