Basic Salary £38K to £49K Plus Excellent Benefits

This is a new and exciting opportunity to work for leading Global Insurance company with offices throughout the UK.one of the UK’s most reputable insurance companies. They offer a wide range of general insurance products focusing around the SME & Mid Corp arena, providing excellent customer service to its portfolio of intermediaries within the UK.

There are looking for a Property & Casualty Trading Underwriter who are looking to progress their career forward and to join their team in Birmingham. There would be some hybrid working.

Your role will include dealing end to end with brokers and customers whilst collaborating with the team to support both the lead trading underwriter and underwriting leader in delivering financials. This will include writing new business and also looking after a renewals portfolio,

You will also be expected to embrace and understand strategy to be an active mobile underwriter, working professionally and effectively wherever you are located. There will also be opportunities to work towards underwriting licence levels as appropriate to your job grade.

A bit about the job:

• To be a multiclass underwriter who operates within agreed guidelines and authority levels to profitably grow the book of business
• To be a great communicator who regularly has meaningful face to face meetings with brokers and/or customers to build their confidence and to make the company their insurer of choice

Skills and experience they are looking for:

• Previous property & liability underwriting experience is essential
• The ability to analyse risks and communicate and present effectively to brokers and/or customers
• Work collaboratively within a large complex organisation
• Good knowledge of the FCA and other relevant regulation and legislation
• Strong commercial business acumen to create and deliver business cases

• Competitive Salary £35K to £49K
• Bonus opportunity - 8% of annual salary
