Financial Controller - PE-Backed Aerospace Manufacturer (High Growth)

Location: South Wales (Hybrid - 2-3 days onsite)

Salary: £60,000 per annum

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Qualifications: Fully Qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)

This is a unique opportunity to step into a Financial Controller role at a pivotal point in the company's journey - working directly with the Founder and playing a strategic part in driving financial excellence.

The Role

As Financial Controller, you'll lead the finance function, support strategic growth initiatives, and deliver high-quality financial insights to the Founder and investors. You'll be a key part of a lean leadership team in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Own financial operations including management accounts, forecasting, budgeting and cash flow
2. Produce board-level reporting and investor packs for the Founder and PE stakeholders
3. Partner closely with the Founder to support strategic growth, investments, and commercial planning
4. Drive financial modelling, cost analysis and scenario planning
5. Ensure statutory compliance and financial governance (UK GAAP)
6. Liaise with external advisors, auditors, and banks
7. Build out and lead a small but growing finance team
8. Implement systems, controls and processes to support scale and automation

Requirements

1. Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
2. Strong experience in manufacturing, engineering, or a fast-growth business environment
3. Experience in a PE-backed or investment-driven setting (desirable)
4. Hands-on, commercially minded, and comfortable influencing at founder/board level
5. Skilled in financial planning, analysis and reporting
6. Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of ownership and pace
