Cover Supervisor - Immediate Start

We are delighted to be recruiting an enthusiastic and confident Cover Supervisor to join the team at a thriving secondary school in the Poole area. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about education and is looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people.

The school prides itself on its supportive environment, high standards, and inclusive ethos. As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning during teacher absences by delivering pre-prepared lessons across a wide range of subjects - including PE. A keen interest in sport or previous coaching experience would be a bonus, but it is not essential.

Whether you're considering a future in teaching or simply looking to work in a dynamic and rewarding school environment, this role offers a great opportunity to gain hands-on classroom experience. Many previous Cover Supervisors have successfully progressed onto teacher training programmes after their time in post.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supervise and manage classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged and on task
2. Support students with the work provided by the class teacher or head of department
3. Provide feedback on student behaviour, engagement, and progress to teaching staff
4. Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's policies and procedures
5. Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people, following the school's Safeguarding and Child Protection policies
