We are seeking a commercially-mindedSales and Marketing Managerto play a key role in driving our growth strategy. The Role:

As Sales and Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for generating new business leads, managing marketing campaigns to grow our subscriber base and readership, and enhancing the visibility and reputation ofBusiness News Walesthrough strategic PR and communications.

You will work closely with our editorial, production, and leadership teams to align marketing activity with content output and commercial opportunities, ensuring maximum impact across campaigns.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales and Business Development:

• Identify, research, and engage with new commercial partners, sponsors, and advertisers.
• Support the development of sector-specific content campaigns and events by securing client participation.
• Manage and grow the sales pipeline using CRM tools.
• Develop compelling proposals and presentations tailored to client needs.
• Nurture long-term relationships with key stakeholders across sectors.

Marketing and Subscriber Growth:

• Plan and deliver marketing campaigns to increase awareness, newsletter sign-ups, and platform engagement.
• Oversee social media strategy and execution to amplify reach and promote stories, interviews, and podcasts.
• Optimise email marketing and lead generation tactics, including segmentation and automation.
• Collaborate with content and design teams to create marketing assets.
• Support reputation management and build the organisation’s public profile.

Person Specification:

Essential:

• Proven experience in sales, marketing, or business development—ideally within media, publishing, or digital sectors.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
• Confident using CRM systems, email marketing tools, and social media platforms.
• Results-oriented, with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.

Desirable:

• Familiarity with the Welsh economic landscape and public/private sector organisations.
• Experience in B2B content marketing or campaign planning.
• An understanding of digital media trends and audience development.
• Welsh language skills are an asset, though not essential.
