Coach (Remote) – Training Pathway Available

Location: Remote (UK-based)

Salary: £33,948.80

Hours: 40 hours per week - further details on working pattern below

Contract: Permanent

About Brain in Hand

Brain in Hand blends practical tools with real human guidance so autistic and ADHD people get support in the moments that matter - at work, in education, and in life. Organisations get scalable, actionable help; people gain confidence and independence. With over half our team neurodivergent and 25,000+ users supported, we build with lived experience. Recently recognised as a Times Best Places to Work, we’re a fast-moving, supportive place to grow, with clear goals and flexible ways of working so you can thrive. Join our mission-led team and help turn purpose into outcomes that improve our users’ lives.

Working Pattern (evening availability required)

Our users often benefit most from coaching later in the day, so this role includes evening shifts as part of a consistent weekly schedule. In return, you’ll have later starts on Tuesday–Thursday, which many people value for balance and flexibility.

You must be able to work the following fixed weekly shift pattern:

  • Monday: 09:00–17:30
  • Tuesday: 12:00–20:30
  • Wednesday: 12:00–20:30
  • Thursday: 12:00–20:30
  • Friday: 09:00–17:30

We’re looking for candidates who enjoy working later shifts and can maintain energy, warmth and focus through evening sessions. We may be able to offer some minor flexibility from the pattern above, but evening working is an essential requirement.

The Role

As a Brain in Hand Coach, you’ll deliver solution-focused, strength-based coaching to help users develop confidence, independence and self-efficacy.

This is a structured coaching role, designed to deliver consistent outcomes for users through a proven Brain in Hand approach. You’ll receive training in our coaching model, and we will support your development, including funding for an ILM Level 3 Coaching qualification.

You’ll manage a caseload, deliver regular coaching sessions remotely, and maintain high-quality records to support progress, safeguarding and continuity of care.

This role suits people who enjoy structured work, can build rapport remotely, and are resilient enough to maintain consistency and warmth across a high session volume.

To help you decide if this role is right for you

Here’s what the day-to-day typically looks like:

  • You’ll deliver around 4–5 coaching sessions per day (remote)
  • Coaching follows a clear and structured Brain in Hand model
  • The work is consistent and routine-based which helps our users feel safe and supported
  • You’ll do admin and record-keeping daily (we’ll train you and support you to do this efficiently)
  • You’ll work fully remotely, so you’ll need to genuinely enjoy remote working and connecting with people online
  • Your working pattern includes evenings on Tuesday–Thursday (12:00–20:30)

If you love flexibility in your hours, prefer variety in your day, or want full autonomy over your coaching approach, this may not be the right fit.
If you enjoy structured work, meaningful impact, later starts, and developing your practice within a clear model we think you could thrive here.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality remote coaching sessions to Brain in Hand users
  • Build strong rapport while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries
  • Use solution-focused and strength-based approaches within the Brain in Hand coaching model
  • Encourage reflection, confidence and independence through structured support
  • Support users to use Brain in Hand’s digital tools to reinforce goals and build habits
  • Manage your caseload and maintain accurate, timely record-keeping
  • Proactively engage users to encourage session uptake and goal progressWork effectively towards expected session delivery KPIs and quality standards
  • Achieve and maintain approved Brain in Hand Coaching status
  • Participate in peer and group supervision and ongoing learning
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of coaching processes and user experience
  • Support onboarding of new coaches where appropriate
  • Support commercial activities when required (e.g. delivery insight, service understanding)
Skills & Experience

We’re open to applicants from a range of backgrounds and you do not need to be a fully qualified coach to apply.

Essential
  • Strong experience supporting neurodivergent individuals and/or people with anxiety-based mental health needs
  • Ability to build rapport and deliver effective support remotely
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and excellent attention to detail

  • Comfortable working in a structured coaching model and following set approaches
  • Resilient and able to deliver consistent support throughout a busy day
  • Confident using mobile and digital tools, with curiosity about assistive technology
  • A caring, pragmatic understanding of safeguarding and escalation procedures
  • Able to work the required shift pattern, including evening coaching sessions on Tuesday–Thursday (12:00–20:30)
Desirable
  • Coaching qualification (ILM Level 3 or 5 preferred) - but not required
  • Experience working in education, workplace support, social care or mental health services
  • Familiarity with solution-focused practice and strength-based approaches
