Graduate Town Planner
Location: Cardiff
Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading UK-wide planning consultancy in their search for a Graduate Town Planner to join their Cardiff office. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and ambitious graduate-ideally with a Masters degree in Town Planning or a related discipline-to kick-start their career with a respected and dynamic consultancy.
As a Graduate Town Planner, you will work on a diverse portfolio of projects spanning residential, commercial, leisure, retail, and mixed-use developments. Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting the preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals.
Undertaking research and policy analysis to support development proposals.
Assisting with planning appraisals, reports, and client presentations.
Liaising with local authorities, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams.
You’ll receive close mentorship from experienced planners while gaining exposure to high-profile projects across the region.
We are looking for someone who:
Holds (or is soon to complete) a Masters degree in Town Planning or a closely related field.
Is working towards, or interested in working towards, RTPI accreditation.
Possesses strong research, analytical, and communication skills.
Is enthusiastic, proactive, and eager to learn.
Has an eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Work in a supportive, collaborative environment with a proven track record of developing graduates into Chartered Planners.
Exposure to a variety of projects and clients from day one.
